Iceland Iceland LAND O ICE.

Hi guys :)
So hereś the deal...
I heard from a ton of people that Iceland is green (and sunny) and Greenland is icy. But I think they have it wrong. Iceland is green, yes but that definitely does not mean itś sunny and warm. No No. On the first day, I had to buy a windbreaker and it saved my life.
I got into my hostel and there was a German lady snoring like mad, who decided she really liked me and wanted to ask me a million questions the next morning, about America and my job and politics and she spoke super broken Englishm and was very hard to understand. Start off with a bang, of course.
So I met up with my couchsurfers who I would be travelling with for the next 10 days at small cafe in the center of Reykyavik. I had trouble finding it, as I cannot pronounce the Icelandic language worth shit. So I had to ask for directions of course, and when I did, they told me what street, but it all sounds kinda like sjhjhdkgakgadkfjgks to me so the guy kindly wrote the word down and told me if i got lost again, to show the person this long schlong word. haha oh so nice.

On the road we went.. the ring road. For 10 days. We bought a tent and camped the first night. There was snow on the mountains not far from where we camped... I think it was about 3 degrees celcius that night. Woo.
Next morning i woke up to find 2 huge bug bites on my nose. My nose swelled up so big, I really looked like rudolph, which is funny because they do have reindeer here. I fit right in.

We camped about 7 out of the 10 nights we were together. And every morning, we found the local swimming pool and kicked it with all of the Icelanders. Swimming pools are the big thing in Iceland. They are all heated by the geothermal activity happening under Iceland. Itś a huge resource for them, so they take advantage of that for sure. They have slides and saunas and steam rooms and many pools in each town. Even the small small ones. And everyone has to shower thoroughly before getting in the pool. They take this very serious, as they even have a monitor, going around, making sure all of the tourists get naked and scrub in all the right spots.
I had to get comfortable being naked with all of these old women, real quick.
Everyone was just scrubbin away... Scrub scrub that vag. HA.

Okay itś dinner time. This Canadian couple cooked for me and Janez. NO PASTA for one night. Hooray. Will write more tomorrow.

LOVE
